"The DJ I worked with had a complicated story behind the album, to paraphrase the story is about a couple (pronouns they and she) who are separated because of the work that one does off-planet - they are in essence enslaved to the company they work for in a late-stage Capitalism kind of way. Due to the way interstellar traffic works in this universe, the woman left on the planet has to wait many years in between visits from her lover, while for her partner only days or weeks had passed. On the front cover the lovers embrace, with ghostly images of the woman aging emanating from her. On the back is her partner and their ship long after she has passed away, mourning the love they once had. We were pulling a lot of inspiration from Seventies Sci-Fi art/novels, but we specifically wanted to avoid the way those mediums exploited women and largely ignored POC. We wanted both characters to be of fairly ambiguous ethnicity, the thought being that if humans make it that far into the future everyone will likely be mixed race. "
