Laura Hawbaker has lived in Prague, Poland, Hawaii, New Orleans, and now Chicago. She has written for The Chicago Tribune, The Chicago Sun-Times,Time Out Magazine, and Newcity Magazine, as well as numerous literary publications.  Laura earned her Master's in Linguistics from the University of Illinois at Chicago and her Bachelor's in Fiction Writing from Columbia College Chicago. 

​In 2012, Laura was awarded a Fulbright from the U.S. Department of State. She has displayed and sold art in New Orleans and Chicago.
